Infection Prevention Department

The Infection Prevention Department provides quality patient care to Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare by identifying and minimizing the incidence of hospital-acquired infections, as well as preventing the spread of communicable diseases. A department of four full and part time RNs,  they bring more than 20 years of higher education and a combined 88 years of diverse nursing care from oncology and med/surg to critical care, cardiac cath lab, chronic vent and the neonatal intensive care unit. Their combined age is 181 years and collectively they have 85 years of marriage and eight children with a combined total of 150 years of mothering. Think they can handle anything? They can.

The Infection Prevention Department is a passionate and fun group that enjoys recipe swapping and extreme couponing almost as much as surveillance and data extraction. Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare never ceases to amaze them with challenging situations and inspiring outcomes, and they hope you will dive into the world of Infection Prevention with them.
