Patricia Lippincott Knox, MSN, FNP, ACHPN

Patricia Lippincott Knox, MSN, FNP, ACHPN, is a palliative care nurse practitioner at Upstate University Hospital and Hospice of Central New York, both located in Syracuse. She was formerly the clinical coordinator of the Palliative Care Consult Service since its inception in 2001. She is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, a clinical assistant professor at the College of Nursing and lecturer for the Center for Bioethics and Humanities all at SUNY Upstate Medical University.

Knox currently teaches Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care (EPEC) to medical staff and healthcare professionals and is a certified End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) trainer. She was appointed to the University Health Consortium (UHC) National Steering Committee for both the 2004 and 2007 Palliative Care Benchmarking Studies. She has received the President’s and Chancellor’s Award for her work in Palliative Care and was appointed to the New York State Palliative Care Medical Education and Training Council. She is also the founder and director of the End of Life Companion volunteer program at Upstate University Hospital.
